How I know that therapy can work for you

JDO Counselling specialises in talking therapies to help you move past issues that you feel are blocking your development. You may struggle with how to react to certain situations, or you might feel life as a whole is too difficult to deal with at the moment. From cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred therapy to psychodynamic counselling and many more, I tailor therapy and advice to suit what you need.

Whatever you’re going through, I am here for you. And I can provide practical, realistic steps to help you overcome what’s holding you back. The reason why I understand what you’re going through? It’s because I have been through them in the past.

More about James Offlow

"“My name is James Offlow and I have suffered with numerous mental health problems in the past. Thankfully, I managed to overcome these difficulties. I then decided I had to give something back, so I trained to become a counsellor. Having been through these struggles, I can really empathise with people when they are going through difficult moments in life. One of the main reasons I trained to become a counsellor is because I really started to understand the importance of talking.

“Too often, people keep how they are feeling bottled up or feel they have no one to talk to. I now offer a safe space for people to talk about their thoughts, feelings and emotions. Nothing is off-limits. It is a totally non-judgemental therapy that aims to reduce the confusion in your head and start to tackle what it is that’s bothering you.”

Start your journey towards better mental health

Therapy really can save lives, and I know that more than most. Keeping your issues bottled up is the worst thing you can do, but it can be very difficult to take that first step.

What happens if this doesn’t work?

What happens if I get too emotional?

What happens if I get judged for how I’m feeling?

Questions like these can spiral in your head and make taking that first step difficult. But I’m here for you and I want to help you be the best version of yourself. You can talk to me in an environment that best suits you. I am available for people in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield as well as online via Zoom calls or in any other way that suits you. Confidentiality is an absolute given and I work to the National Counselling Society Code of Ethics to ensure the highest standards and professionalism. If you want to learn more about how I can help, I offer consultations so that you can decide without obligation if I am the counsellor to help you.
